4Squared

A design exercise carried out by our firm principal just for fun, 4Squared was an exploration in sustainable and modular residential development.  The driving premise of the design for this  theoretical off-grid micro residential unit was that it could rotate upon itself allowing select elevations equipped with photovoltaics to follow the path of the sun and thus facilitating maximum energy harvesting.  Additionally the scale of the module, as well as the building material choices were intentionally capped to allow portability and assembly via manpower.
