Salvaged Wood

A collaborative venture between our firm and regional supplier of salvaged construction material, The Housewright Shop – whose owner happens to be uncle to our firm owner. Through this team effort we are able to ensure accessibility to superior material for our own clients, as well as play liaison for other local designers and developers interested in these materials.

The Housewright Shop produces high quality old growth wood material by virtue of a rigorous process of dismantling old barns and other historic structures about the Shenandoah Valley, followed by careful remilling in house. The end product yields unique material for use as finished wood surfacing for floors, stair treads, and unique structural members providing a custom flair to each project.

In addition to meeting our firm’s high standards for quality, the use of such reclaimed material is a sustainable practice, and a shared family business. We can offer an array of options including but not limited to, old growth heart pine, red and white oak, chestnut, and douglas fir.
